Excellent first day experience at the start of the academic year at HvA and UvA

The start of the academic year is an important moment at every university. All new students and all staff start on the same day, and they all need access to their IT resources and applications. This is an annually recurring critical and challenging moment for Identity Management teams like those at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA) and the University of Amsterdam (UvA).

From two weeks to one weekend

HvA and UvA use a shared on-premises IT environment. In the past, activating all user accounts took one to two weeks. Over the past year, the IAM team at HvA and UvA and the FuseLogic consultant worked hard to shorten that timeframe. The result: in September 2023, all user accounts were activated within a single weekend. The large number of positive reactions from within the organization showed just how much this was appreciated.
