From a year of standstill to Okta live in 30 days
Intergamma runs 400 GAMMA and Karwei DIY stores with more than 12.000 employees. The challenge: efficient access management for an organisation with many flex workers, part-timers and high staff turnover.

The problem: manual access management costs time and money
With many flex workers, part-timers and high staff turnover, manual access management at Intergamma had become unworkable. The concrete consequences:
- Slow onboarding: new employees waiting days for access, with productivity hit from day one
- Unnecessary costs: access rights of former employees stayed active, driving up licence spend
- Overloaded service desk: a constant stream of calls about passwords and access issues
- Compliance risk: no clear view of who had access to which systems
After almost a year of development on Microsoft Entra ID, results were not coming. Custom build and consulting costs kept climbing while the franchisees were still waiting for something that worked.
The solution: proven expertise, fast results
Intergamma chose a Proof of Concept with Okta and FuseLogic.
One day for what a year had not delivered. We demonstrated every critical use case inside a single working day. After months of development that produced little, the picture was suddenly clear: this was achievable.
A staged implementation approach. The biggest hurdle: connecting more than 40 different HR systems used by the franchisees. Our approach started from one central workforce planning system as the source of truth, which let us roll out across all 400 stores quickly. The individual HR systems were then connected in phases from the live Okta platform.
The results: measurable impact, immediately
Within a month, Okta was running across all 400 stores. The impact:
- Automated JML processes: new employees productive on day one, leavers lose access the moment they go
- Lower costs: no more spend on licences nobody is using
- Less pressure on IT: a clear drop in service desk calls about access and passwords
- A base for growth: the platform is ready for Belgium and for new applications
